Our research topic focuses on how art follows historical eras and how art has stayed relevant by being an influencer/influenced or by historic trends. We are planning to interview 4 art professors with the questions: What is the significance of art to human? To what extent has art been an influencer or influenced? Please take a look at this piece of art, what is the artist trying to communicate to the audience? What is the artist’s message? What was the trend during this specific period? What would a piece of art be required to contain to have the possibility of being sold?
We also plan to interview 3 art students or artists who have contributed to the gallery with the following questions: What message does your art piece carry?Did you want your art piece to be an influencer of your message or was it influenced by a greater event?What was your inspiration for your piece? A person, a thing, an event?
Lastly, we want to interview non-art students with the following questions: What do you think of when you hear the word “art”?Would you say you think of art often?What do you know about art?Do you have an interest in seeing a specific type of art?
