Often, humans are categorized into categories. Someone is either good at english, or they’re good at math. They’re creative, or they’re logical. They are good at sports, or they’re good at academics. But are these distinct differences true? The question that we’re investigating is “How might Western Washington University students, who are majoring in math or science fields, feel accomplished in humanities classes, and how do they feel when they are taking them?” This topic is important because each class affects things like GPA and GUR’s, so if one who is more math literate is struggling in humanities classes it could potentially impact whether they get into their intended major. Also, it is important to see how our brains are wired differently, others many feel completely confident all around with humanity classes and some might not.
We are looking for three to four interview subjects that would be willing to discuss their opinions on Humanities and STEM. If you are interested please contact nickelj4@wwu.edu. All help would be appreciated.
